I hope the Tooth Fairy left you some actual beef. That would be worth more. Wouldn't you agree?
I'm almost certain I put the quotation marks there to make sure the Tooth Fairy recognized that it was merely a colorful expression and not a literal request.
But in retrospect, I totally deserved a big, cold slab of raw meat under my pillow, yeah.
Which you couldn't chew because you were missing teeth! Ah ha ha ha ha!! Life is cruel.
