Am I the only one who realizes that some things are more important than gazillions of dollars? Like self-respect and not getting spit on whenever you come back to play in Boston.
The article implied that George Steinbrenner made him an offer he couldn't refuse. That's a scathing indictment of both men's principles. Well, perhaps Johnny Damon will lose some of his ability along with his originality when Steinbrenner makes him conform to the accepted Yankee look (R).
It's sports, not an auction or a military unit. Sad.

I hope he's like Samson, and when he gets his hair cut, he won't be so great anymore. Of course, that makes Steinbrenner Delilah. Which makes me giggle in my head.
